Ja choču, čtoby to volnenie... (I would like it, if the excitement ...)

| Handwritten draft for a speech by Vertov, which - it emerges from the text - took place at the Bol'šoj Theatre and in the presence of Stalin, who is addressed as poet, artist and architect of a new life. Vertov describes his excitement at the moment of making his appearance and hopes that this will also prove fruitful for his work. | ||

| Comments: | It was presumably a speech on the occasion of being awarded the order of “Krasnaja Zvezda” (“Red Star”) at the Bol’šoj Theatre on 11 January 1935. At about the same time the All-Union Conference of Filmmakers was held, during which the notorious photo was taken in which Stalin can be seen together with Vertov and many other film-makers. The item can therefore presumably be dated to 1935; in the 1970s the ÖFM dated it to 1932. | |
