| Comments: | It is an early mention of the terms and concepts invented by Vertov. What it demands is the radical supercession of a psychologising cinematic art which "illustrates" exclusively literary models by Kinoki and its methods of mechanical "I hear" (radio ucho) and "I see" (kinoglaz). Previously untranslated, though individual formulations can also be found in the manifesto Kinoki Perevorot [Kinoki. A Revolution] dated June/July 1923. Vertov's own dating was about one year before it was published in the Pravda of 15.7.1923. | |
